Collection: Orbea Bikes for Sale in Cape Town

We are an Orbea shop. Mountain, gravel and road — the Oiz, the Terra and the Orca — built in Spain and set up here in Hout Bay. These are bikes worth being measured for rather than guessed at, so come and sit on one first.

The three Orbeas, and who each one is for

Orbea build in the Basque Country and have done since 1840. What we carry is the carbon end of their range, in the three shapes that make sense for riding on this peninsula.

Oiz — cross-country mountain

120mm of travel front and rear on an OMR carbon frame, which is Orbea's same-strength, slightly-heavier alternative to their top OMX layup. It is a racer's bike more than a trail bike: light, efficient, and quick to get moving again after a technical section. That suits Tokai and Silvermine, and it suits anyone with a marathon event in the diary.

Terra — gravel

The Terra takes the wide tyres and relaxed-enough geometry that the district roads behind the mountain ask for. It is the most versatile bike of the three — comfortable enough for a long day out, quick enough that it does not feel like a compromise when you rejoin the tar.

Orca — road

The Orca is the climbing and all-round road frame; the Orca Aero is the same idea with the tube shapes optimised for speed. Either is a Chapman's Peak bike.

Why we would rather you came in

A bike at this level is bought once and ridden for years, and the single thing that decides whether you enjoy it is whether it fits. Frame size, stem length, bar width and saddle height all interact, and none of it can be settled from a size chart on a screen. We would rather spend the time with you in the shop.

Stock at this end of the range is genuinely limited — usually one bike per size and colour. If the build you want is not on the floor, ask us. Come and find us at 35 Main Road, Scott Estate, or see what else is in the shop.

Common questions

Can I change the spec?

Some of it. Contact points — saddle, bar, stem — we can usually swap at the point of sale so the bike leaves fitted to you. Talk to us before you buy.

Do you service what you sell?

Yes, that is the point of buying from a shop with a workshop. Servicing is booked through our workshop.
